About the role
Prepare and coordinate day-to-day social content with care for the message, format and publishing details. The Social Media Executive will turn an approved plan into platform-ready captions, graphics and short video, maintain the calendar, support community responses and assemble useful reporting. The role suits someone who can manage content details reliably, follow voice and brand guidance, and use performance observations to improve future execution.
What you’ll own
- Keep the social calendar accurate, tracking drafts, assets, review status and scheduled items so that approved content is ready for the intended channel and date.
- Write and adapt captions, descriptions and supporting copy to the agreed voice, checking links, names, formatting and context before submitting each item for review.
- Produce graphics, carousels and short video edits from approved templates and source material, checking legibility, captions, crops and safe placement across relevant device sizes.
- Prepare posts in scheduling tools, verify that approvals and assets are complete, and inspect published items for broken links, unexpected crops or other presentation problems.
- Monitor comments, mentions and messages, respond within the agreed guidance, and route sales enquiries, complaints or sensitive questions to the appropriate person with sufficient context.
- Repurpose approved articles, interviews and longer videos into suitable social formats, preserving the original meaning and checking that quotes, images and examples are cleared for use.
- Maintain the asset library and compile performance reports, checking figures and noting useful observations about formats, audience responses and execution issues.
What we’re looking for
- One to two years of social media execution experience, with examples showing your contribution to captions, scheduling, visual production, community handling or reporting.
- Clear written English and the ability to follow a brand or executive voice guide, proofread carefully and adapt copy without changing its intended meaning.
- Hands-on experience with Canva or a similar design tool, a social scheduling platform and a short-video editor, including preparing accessible captions and readable graphics.
- Working familiarity with LinkedIn and YouTube analytics and spreadsheets, with the ability to check figures and explain basic performance patterns without overstating their significance.
- Strong organisation across calendars, files and feedback, including noticing missing approvals, conflicting information or unsuitable assets and resolving those issues before scheduling.
Useful, but not essential
- Experience with B2B social content, executive profiles or ecommerce-related material, including adapting the same source to different channel formats.
- Figma basics, newsletter production or supervised campaign setup experience, with an understanding of when specialist design or media support is needed.
What good work looks like
- The calendar and publishing tools reflect the approved plan, with complete assets, accurate links and a clear record of review status.
- Content remains readable and consistent with the voice guide, and community matters reach the right person with usable context.
- Reports contain checked figures and relevant observations that help the team improve content preparation, format choices and audience response.
