About the role
The Business Development Manager leads the quality and organisation of new-business development. You will translate the service offer into a practical prospecting approach, guide qualification and outreach standards, improve pipeline visibility and develop appropriate referral and partnership opportunities. The role combines hands-on commercial judgement with coaching and cross-functional coordination so that sales activity produces opportunities the delivery team can responsibly support.
What you’ll own
- Define and refine target-account criteria with leadership and delivery colleagues, translating market insight and service capabilities into clear priorities for prospect research and outreach.
- Organise the outbound process across research, messaging, qualification and handoff, ensuring responsibilities are clear and gaps between roles are identified and resolved through practical changes.
- Review calls, written outreach and opportunity notes with sales colleagues, provide specific coaching and address quality problems through evidence rather than activity counts alone.
- Maintain meaningful pipeline stages, ownership and review routines, challenge unsupported forecasts and give leadership a clear view of opportunity quality, risks and next decisions.
- Develop relevant referral and partnership relationships, evaluate mutual fit and coordinate proposed arrangements through the appropriate approval process before making commitments on the company's behalf.
- Support complex or partner-sourced opportunities through discovery, scope discussions and negotiation, involving delivery specialists and the Account Executive where their input is needed for a decision.
- Coordinate sales plans with delivery capacity and approved commercial terms, and use lost-deal reasons, customer questions and market feedback to recommend improvements to the offer.
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated responsibility for a B2B pipeline, including the ability to explain qualification standards, commercial decisions and the outcomes of your approach.
- Experience coaching sales colleagues and improving a working process, supported by concrete examples of how you diagnosed and addressed quality issues.
- Hands-on CRM capability, including pipeline structure, reporting and review habits that make opportunities and risks understandable to other decision makers.
- Strong discovery, negotiation and written communication skills, with the judgement to distinguish a promising opportunity from work that is unsuitable.
- Ability to coordinate with delivery and leadership, represent service capabilities accurately and maintain responsible standards across prospect research and outreach.
Useful, but not essential
- Experience developing business for an agency, software company or professional-services organisation, including commercially relevant conversations with ecommerce business owners and decision makers.
- Experience building referral relationships or partner channels, with an understanding of clear ownership, transparent expectations and the importance of approved commercial arrangements.
What good work looks like
- The sales process has clear ownership and consistent qualification standards that colleagues can apply and explain in practice.
- Leadership can assess pipeline health and likely next steps using current evidence, with commercial and delivery risks visible.
- Coaching and partner development produce documented improvements in opportunity quality, while commitments remain aligned with approved scope and capacity.
Benefits for employees

- Health insurance
- Provident fund
- Quarterly bonus
- Fuel allowance
- Gym allowance
- Paid courses and certifications
- Monthly work-from-home days
